ebay was hacked for 145 million records. Names birthdates addresses, but not credit cards. Check your stuff and change your passwords!

I suppose I should. I still have my original four character (all lowercase) password from my first purchase.
Which was.

Yet another reminder that everyone should be using a password manager at this point.
LastPass, Dashlane, 1Password, KeePass, KeePassX - pick whichever one you prefer and begin using it. Not only does it make far easier to use long and random passwords, it mitigates the effect of any password breach. Why? If you're using a different password on every site, you don't have to go around changing dozens of your accounts that all use the same password.
I spent 2 minutes changing my eBay password - didn't have to worry about a single other account as there's no shared passwords.

Wonderful. They have the most f'd up password reset process on top of it all. I need to get an email or a text neither of which I can receive at my desk.

Imbeciles. The reset process is stupid; the password has to be arcane. Um...perhaps I can point out to them that no matter how arcane I make a password that's pointless when the fuckers let their system get hacked. Idiots.
